1.) Invest In Extra Flowers
Flowers sometimes have a hard time withstanding the heat. Be sure to invest in a few extra boutonnieres and corsages. Keep in mind that you will be wearing these all day so they could get a little beaten down. There will be an extra charge involved, but it will be worth it when you have healthy, vibrant flowers all day and through the night!
2.) Purchase Fans For The Ceremony
Outdoor weddings in the summer months can get brutally hot and uncomfortable for guests. One way to show you care is to provide fans. Ever considered making your ceremony program into a fan? It’s an awesome way to incorporate the two things into one useful item for your guests!
3.) Greet Guests With A Drink
Dehydration is a possibility when guests are outside in the hot weather. Create a fun, refreshing drink for guests to sip on when they arrive. Consider making it a “signature drink” where you make up your own mix and give it a fun name. For example, give out pink lemonade and call it the Blushing Bride. Or hand out tea and call it the Golden Groom.
4.) Keep The Dance Floor Cool
All brides hope that the dance floor is packed all night long. The best way to keep the groove alive is to keep the dance floor cool. Provide fans that aim at the floor and consider providing iced washcloths for guests to cool down with.
5.) Get Rid of Pesky Bugs
Even if you don’t think bugs will be an issue, you will still want to plan for the worst and invest in bug spray. Also, add citronella candles and tiki torches all around the venue. They will add a sense of mood lighting, while also functioning as a repellent for those nasty mosquitos!

Last October we had our wedding in Banff and had Pez productions come DJ for us. We had Nigel and it was honestly the best DJ experience we have ever had. Prior to our wedding, Pez productions sent me a multi page booklet of the top songs to choose from for all the wedding day milestones (first dance, walk down the aisle, intro etc). A questionnaire was also sent to get the feel of the guests who would be attending. Then one month before our wedding they scheduled a phone interview to make sure we had everything ready for what we wanted. On the night of our wedding Nigel was wonderful to work with, very professional and very intuitive to what was going on that night. When my husband and I were saying our speeches, him and I have very different tones and Nigel was on it to adjust the volume as each person spoke. All night Nigel got people on the dance floor, he played the best music and played my favourites. He was an active DJ. It's been two months since our wedding and guests are still asking me who the DJ was and how awesome he was. I have friends who have asked for Pez to work their wedding after hearing them at mine. The Team at Pez made everything easy. They didn't miss a beat when I had specifically asked songs to start and stop at certain times all throughout my wedding day.If you're on the fence about whether you need a DJ for your wedding, this is your sign that yes you do in fact need a DJ. They do more than just play music for you, they create an experience for you and a your guess. Though all the DJs we had that night did an amazing job, I have to say that DJ Johnee Wong is the best! My husband and I got married at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on August 5. Out of all the planning, the music was probably the one thing we were most worried about being perfect, other than the food of course. We had no idea what we wanted in terms of lighting and any other additions to the day but Fayyaz decided to speak directly with us on a call since we were planning this completely remotely from New Jersey, USA. He was so helpful in explaining the different options available, answering all of my numerous questions, and even making suggestions based on our venue and the ambiance we were going for. In the end, we made a few choices and it ended up coming together incredibly. Fayyaz even suggested for our ceremony having the song to be played after we were announced as husband and wife while we were walking back down the aisle to be played by the DJ (since we had a harpist for all of the other music) to add that extra upbeat touch and it made such a huge difference, we're so grateful for that suggestion! We had beautiful white uplighting and table lighting for our reception which then changed once the dancing began to give it a bit more of a party vibe. We also had some uplighting on the fireplace which looked so nice. One of the best add ons we went with was the dry ice machine that went off during our first dance. Honestly, I mostly wanted this to cover up my terrible foot work during the dance, but it made for the most incredible photos and we even had a couple that is getting married next year tell us that it was such a good idea, they're going to use a dry ice machine during their first dance as well! We were a bit picky with the music we wanted played so we made playlists for our cocktail hour/dinner hour and for the dancing portion, and we were able to share it with the DJ. Josue did such a great job of transitioning the songs, there was never any awkward pauses during the transitions. There wasn't a moment where people weren't dancing! We used Josue as our MC as well and he was great! Really attentive to detail, followed the MC script, and even confirmed name pronunciations with us before hand. I really couldn't recommend Pez Productions enough, they helped make our night so memorable, our dance floor was packed from the minute the dancing began until the last song of the night during the after party!

AMAZING!!! We had Pez Productions DJ our wedding on July 22nd, 2023 in Sylvan Lake and they were incredible! Josue was amazing from start to finish. We had him DJ our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. It was an absolute party, he kept everyone on the dance floor until we had to kick people out of the venue at the end of the night- there was at least 70 people on the dance floor at 1:30am still. We got the extra sparklers and lights and it was worth it. People keep talking about our wedding and the party it was and I largely think it was due to Pez Productions.
